I recommend this book for those looking for advice on fundamentals for making a cocktail. It includes great advice on what is needed at a bar, how to shake, what you should look for in ice and more. It also gives you the templates to begin experimenting with creating your own cocktails and how to taste for balance. The beginning sections of this book have been invaluable during my exploration of cocktails.
The recipes in this book utilize house-made syrups, infused alcohols and hard to find ingredients. It is rather difficult to make a majority of the recipes in the book because the sheer breadth and depth of the alcohols needed but when you can - damn are they good.
